Opal Rocks & Pilbara - Acting on a confirmed telephone call with Trainer Mr. M. Briganti the two greyhounds were withdrawn at 5.03pm in the best interest of greyhound racing (GAR 20 (4) (b)). Mr. Briganti applied to withdraw Opal Rocks and Pilbara after the pair were inadvertently fed late this afternoon. In approving the application to withdraw the greyhounds, Mr. Briganti was fined $250 for the kennel's negligence pursuant to GAR86(o). In arriving at penalty Stewards considered the circumstances of the matter, penalty precedent and that two greyhounds were withdrawn resulting in a field of six. No penalties were applied to the greyhounds.

Stewards delayed the ‘All Clear’ to this event in order to review vision of the greyhounds racing to the turn out of the front straight. The side on and head on video footage was examined numerous times regarding My Girl Kizzy racing unusually wide approaching the turn. After viewing the replays and acting on their own observations Stewards believed My Girl Kizzy raced wide of its own accord and as such ‘All Clear’ was declared.

Party Lights was quick to begin.

Zipping Ticket and My Girl Kizzy collided on the first turn.  Dark Arrow and Weblec Haze collided on the first turn causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Zipping Hamish checked off Party Light on the first turn and again on the second turn.  My Girl Kizzy raced wide approaching the second turn.  Dark Arrow and My Girl Kizzy collided approaching the third turn checking Dark Arrow.  Zipping Hamish checked off Party Lights on the fourth turn.  Party Lights and Zipping Ticket collided entering the home straight checking My Girl Kizzy.
