Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Antoine.
Aston Corinna was slow to begin.
Blue Magic Opal crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Aston Antoine and Zipping Norman. Aston Corinna checked off Zipping Norman in the front straight. Aston Corinna checked off Zipping Norman approaching the first turn checking Palace Lady. Any Luck, Teddy Too, Blue Magic Opal and Reiko Martini collided approaching the first turn checking Teddy Too and Reiko Martini. Zipping Norman checked off Aston Antoine on the first turn checking Blue Magic Opal and Palace Lady. Blue Magic Opal and Reiko Martini collided on the second turn. Blue Magic Opal and Reiko Martini collided on the home turn. Teddy Too turned its head inwards and visibly eased on the home turn. Any Luck cramped and lost ground in the home straight checking Blue Magic Opal.
Any Luck underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped. No stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp) Any Luck must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Teddy Too underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to the owner Mr S. Hughes, who declined the option of a revet, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Teddy Too was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hughes pleaded guilty to the charge, Teddy Too was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
