A pre-race sample was taken from Empire Lad.

Spirit Energy and Never Simple were slow to begin.

Fly To Victory, Spirit Energy and Empire Lad collided on the first turn checking Spirit Energy and Empire Lad.  Venus Light and Galloping Occy collided on the first turn checking Galloping Occy.  Venus Light and Dewana Whatever collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Empire Lad and Never Simple collided on the first turn. Venus Light visibly eased on the second turn.  Empire Lad and Dewana Whatever collided on the fourth turn checking Empire Lad, Dewana Whatever and Galloping Occy.  Never Simple and Dewana Whatever collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Venus Light pulled up entering the home straight.

Never Simple underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Venus Light underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7.  Venus Light was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle, right hamstrings and an abrasion to the right metacarpal.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Tim Britton regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Venus Light was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Britton pleaded guilty to the charge, Venus Light was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
