Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Cosmic Vigilante.
Poppo's Legacy, Blazin' Hawk and Skinny Legend collided soon after the start. Star Ballerina, Cosmic Vigilante, Poppo's Legacy and Skinny Legend collided approaching the first turn checking Star Ballerina and Praise Me. Mich Wiggle and Star Ballerina collided on the first turn. Poppo's Legacy checked off Skinny Legend on the first turn. Skinny Legend eased on the first turn causing Praise Me to cross to the out. Star Ballerina and Skinny Legend collided approaching the third turn checking both greyhounds.
Skinny Legendunderwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7. Skinny Legend was found to have was found to have an injury to the right thigh, a left carpal sprain and an abrasion . A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms T. Curtain, the trainer of Skinny Legend regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Skinny Legend was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment throughout the event. Ms Curtain pleaded not guilty to the charge, Skinny Legend was found guilty and suspended for 12 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c) before any future nomination will be accepted.
