Steward's Report
Block Star, Shifty, Woolybully Keats and Pontiac Moon collided on the first turn checking Shifty, Speckie McKean and Pontiac Moon and severely checking Indy's Dream. Woolybully Keats turned its head outwards on the first turn. Omega Dodge was checked off Pontiac Moon on the home turn. Pontiac Moon raced wide in the home straight.
Woolybully Keats underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left monkey muscle and right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Boreland the trainer of Woolybully Keats regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1) Woolybully Keats was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Boreland pleaded not guilty to the charge, Woolybully Keats was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72 before any future nomination will be accepted
Satisfactory Trials:
War Ruby - return to racing - field of 4, 400 metres, 27.1kgs, box 1, placed first, time run 23.06 secs. Cleared all tracks.
Grumpy Al - failed to chase - field of 4, 400 metres, 32.5kgs, box 3, placed second, time run 23.38 secs. Cleared all tracks except Ballarat.
