Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Ernie Prang was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left sesamoid, and both hamstrings, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Ian Cockerell, the trainer of Ernie Prang regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Ernie Prang was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Cockerell pleaded guilty to the charge, Ernie Prang was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted

Jagetti Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right calf and left triangle muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs Lisa Delbridge, the handler of Jagetti Bale regarding the performance.  In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mrs Delbridge to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Jagetti Bale in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

The Stewards spoke to Tranier Mr Harry Manolitsis around the bonafides of the nomination & withdrawal of Flynn for this race this evening. After hearing submissions, the Stewards were comfortably satsfied that the intention when nominating Flynn was to race however those plans were scuppered when trialling below expectations at Warragul on Thursday evening, after the drawing of the race.  As such, no further activities were required.

Road To Success and Get It Gizmo collided on the first turn checking Get It Gizmo which stumbled as a result.
