Steward's Report
Coughlin's Law and Akina Bear were slow to begin.
Maximum Rhonda crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Hayley's Hero, Free Kick Hawks and Fidelia. Aeroplane Miss raced wide approaching the first turn checking Nan Moffitt. Nan Moffitt, Fidelia and Free Kick Hawks collided on the first turn. Fidelia and Free Kick Hawks collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Fidelia. Fidelia visibly turned its head entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Aeroplane Miss raced wide in the home straight checking Maximum Rhonda.
Fidelia underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left thigh muscle, left groin muscle and a laceration to the inside left hind leg, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr T. Currie, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Fidelia was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Currie pleaded guilty to the charge, Fidelia must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
