Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Mick.
Too Much Talking, Saharrah Blitz, Goofey Express and Market Charlie collided soon after the start. Grand Giveaway crossed to the outside at the 200m mark and collided with Too Much Talking and Market Charlie. Market Charlie marred Grand Giveaway at the 50m mark.
Market Charlie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and a right hock spike wound. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Burkett, the trainer of Market Charlie regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Market Charlie was charged with marring. Mr Burkett pleaded not guilty to the charge, Market Charlie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
