Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards reviewed a racing incident in the home straight between the greyhounds Tokyo Bird and Aston Santana, and spoke to the Trainer of Tokyo Bird - Mr. Jason Sharp regarding the manner in which the greyhound raced in the home straight. In relation to the incident, Stewards reviewed the severe interference suffered in the back straight, which caused both Tokyo Bird and Aston Santana to tail off. This caused both greyhounds to be a significant distance from the leading field and lure once they entered the home straight. Tokyo Bird was also vetted and was found to have a right thigh and left groin injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  After considering all the evidence and taking into account their own observations and the injuries sustained, Stewards took no further action in relation to the incident. 

Aston Santana underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right chest muscle injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Huggle Bear, Hadouken and Will It Rain collided soon after the start.  Hadouken, Will It Rain and Departure Gate collided soon after the start checking Hadouken and Will It Rain.  Departure Gate checked off Huggle Bear approaching the first turn.  Huggle Bear checked off Colden Express approaching the first turn checking Kasemi which raced wide as a result.  Departure Gate, Huggle Bear and Hadouken collided approaching the first turn.  Will It Rain checked off Hadouken on the first turn.  Departure Gate and Huggle Bear collided on the second turn checking Hadouken.  Hadouken checked off Will It Rain on the second turn.  Huggle Bear checked off Kasemi on the second turn.  Departure Gate checked off Kasemi entering the back straight.  Huggle Bear checked off Will It Rain approaching the home turn.  Will It rain checked off Departure Gate in the home straight.

Tiggerlong Ginga went up with the lids at box rise.  Adonis Sands was slow to begin.  

Tiggerlong Ginga crossed to the rails soon after the start.  Just A Giggle, Xella Bale and Adonis Sands collided soon after the start.  Rock Me Gorgeous and Indian Shadow collided soon after the start.  Tiggerlong Ginga, Rock Me Gorgeous and Indian Shadow collided in the front straight checking Tiggerlong Ginga.  Just A Giggle, Xella Bale and Adonis Sands collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Just A Giggle and Xella Bale collided on the second turn.  Adonis Sands faltered entering the back straight and tailed off as a result.  Rock Me Gorgeous checked off Summer Lights approaching the home turn.  Rock Me Gorgeous and Summer Lights collided entering the home straight.  

Adonis Sands underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Lily Pad, Silver Smarty and Ernesto Bale were slow to begin.

Mepunga Felix, Dukey Duke, Route Sixty Six, Parzival and Red Rochelle collided soon after the start.  Paarzival, Silver Smarty and Ernesto Bale collided approaching the first turn.  Dukey Duke and Red Rochelle collided on the first turn and again in the front straight.  Parzival and Red Rochelle collided approaching the second turn.  Dukey Duke and Red Rochelle collided approaching the second turn.  Dukey Duke raced wide on the second turn and lost ground as a result.  Silver Smarty checked off Red Rochelle on the second turn.  

Dukey Duke underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
