Steward's Report
The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Arancini with Representative Mr. A. Formosa and noted his comments.
Devon Shadow was slow to begin.
Arancini was quick to begin.
Max Black, Totally Bella and Go The Doves collided soon after the start. Run To You and Valak collided soon after the start. Max Black, Totally Bella and Valak collided approaching the first, checking Arancini and Valak, causing Totally Bella, Go The Doves, Run To You and Valak to collide checking Valak and Devon Shadow. Valak visabily eased and turned its head inwards on the first turn. Go The Doves and Totally Bella collided approaching the home turn. Totally Bella and Run To You collided in the home straight.
Arancini underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to havea cervico-thoracic injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Valak underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right sesamoid injury. A10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr S Curtain,the trainer of Valak regarding the greyhounds racing mannerson the first turn Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Valak was chargedwith failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr S Curtain pleaded guilty to the charge,Valak is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
