Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

My Dark Rose - Late scratching at 10.31am on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a split webbing. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Jimmy Goes Bang checked off Barellen Rocket approaching the first turn checking Spring Silver.  Catch Me Spolly, Barellen Rocket and Gracie's Girl collided approaching the home turn checking Gracie's Girl, severely checking Come On Serenity and Ebony Lakes.  Jimmy Goes Bang raced wide approaching the home turn.  Zambora Tara checked off Spring Silver in the home straight.

Star Ballerina and Inga Mikey collided on the third turn.  September Dream and Inga Mikey collided approaching the home turn.

Spolly's Beauty and Courtney Lee were slow to begin.

Romany Girl, Spolly's Beauty and Ultimate Amadeus collided approaching the first turn.  Renita faltered on the first turn, lost ground and subsequently tailed off.  Lottie Biscotti and Addy Belle collided on the first turn checking Lottie Biscotti; causing Lottie Biscotti to race wide.

Renita Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Aston Jolie was quick to begin.

Electric Mick and Layback Cruiser collided on the first turn.  La Quinta Rocks, Brayden Lennox and Aston Guinness collided on the first turn.  Aston Jolie, Beers On Brody, Electric Mick and Layback Cruiser collided on the home turn checking Layback Cruiser, severely checking Aston Jolie and Electric Mick; causing Electric Mick to fall.  La Quinta Rocks and Brayden Lennox collided on the home turn checking La Quinta Rocks.

Electric Mick underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising over the right shoulder and spike wounds to the left hock and right calf.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Emily Sullivan the handler of La Quinta Rocks regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting on their own observations and taking into consideration the incident that occurred involving the greyhound Electric Mick, Stewards used their discretion and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. 

A post-race sample was taken from Beers On Brody - the winner of the event.

Cosmic Vigilante was slow to begin.

Cosmic Vigilante, Praise Me and Hook Along Mint collided on the first turn.  Bright Blue and Romeo Lad collided approaching the second turn checking Romeo Lad.  Flashy De Goey marred Heidi Intention approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Ivan Ognjenovic, the trainer of Flashy De Goey regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Flashy De Goey was charged with marring. Mr Ognjenovic pleaded guilty to the charge, Flashy De Goey is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Tim Tam Sam – Stewards were satisfied with the boxing of the greyhound today and removed the boxed first endorsement for future events in accordance with GAR 52.
