Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Chips An' Cheese.
Dustification was quick to begin. My Oh Fernando went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.
Chips An' Cheese checked off Remember Jimmy soon after the start. My Oh Fernando and Jamo collided approaching the first turn. Remember Jimmy checked off Incognito on the first turn; Remember Jimmy raced wide as a result. Remember Jimmy lost ground on the third turn. Remember Jimmy raced wide in the home straight.
Remember Jimmy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left fibula injury and an abrasion next to the right eye. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Gerry Orr, the representative of Remember Jimmy regarding its performance in this event. Stewards queried the step up in distance from 311m and Mr.Orr explained that he believed the greyhound was fit enough to perform over the longer journey, however the run was inconclusive given the injuries sustained. Stewards accepted his explanation.
