In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 29.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 16.1 degrees. Due to a significant drop in temperature prior to the running of event 1, Stewards relaxed the hot weather policy.

Stagger Bott and National Level collided soon after the start checking Stagger Bott. Serengeti Icon checked off National Level soon after the start. Just Harry and Cullquin Finn collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Serengeti Icon raced wide entering the home straight. Sylvia's Delight crossed to the outside in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Xericom Bale.

Hitomi Bale, Black Miss and Xericom Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Black Miss. Hitomi Bale and Black Miss collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Verne Bale.

Ishmy Neecy was quick to begin.

Abalone Fozz checked off Your Queen soon after the start checking Take A Lily. Ishmy Neecy, Your Queen and Verne Bale collided on the first turn checking Your Queen and Verne Bale. 

Take A Daisy was quick to begin. Blur was slow to begin.

Ginny Woolf checked off All Inn Deeds approaching the first turn. Gotta Exceed and Zipping Spud collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Take A Daisy and More Wit collided in the home straight.  

Secret Thoughts was quick to begin. Cullquin Marcel was slow to begin.

Oriental Sugar and Zanti Magic collided on the first turn. Oriental Sugar and Zanti Magic raced wide entering the home straight.

Kraken Tan, Hammer Red and Solar Charge colided soon after the start. Camo Rex and Awesome Grit collided entering the home straight. Awesome Grit turned its head to the inside in the home straight.

Awesome Grit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey and left triangle muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Paul Kaltsis, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Awesome Grit was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kaltsis pleaded guilty to the charge, Awesome Grit must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Camo Rex - the winner of the event. 

Gene Man – Late scratching at 12:31pm when Ms Kaylah Thorburn reported the greyhound to have a hock injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards reported no interference in this event.

Uzzi Bale was slow to begin.

Kraken Bo checked off Quest Allen on the first turn checking Quando Quando.

Uzzi Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right hind webbing. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Raw Zeal was slow to begin.

Maddox Bale, All Inn Jason, Oriental Gale and Raw Zeal collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds.

Flying Bella checked off Horey's Prince soon after the start. He's A Natural, Horey's Prince and Awesome Asset collided on the first turn checking He's A Natural and Horey's Prince. Flying Bella raced wide entering the home straight.

Kernel Panic checked off Kraken Roger approaching the home turn checking Zelma Bale. Kraken Ruben galloped on Go Pies entering the home straight checking Go Pies. Go Pies checked off Oriental Zeal in the home straight. Kraken Roger checked off Go Pies approaching the winning post.
