Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Drumbeater.
Geena Bale was quick to begin. Riverdale Shine, Drumbeater and Jessie's Rose collided soon after the start, checking Riverdale Shine. Lucky Shiraz eased in the back straight and tailed off. Apple Valley and Riverdale Shine collided in the home straight, checking Riverdale Shine.
Lucky Shiraz underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race five and was found to have left chest and right thigh injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr S.Drummond Trainer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Lucky Shiraz was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Drummond pleaded guilty to the charge, Lucky Shiraz must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
