Claretown Trixie - Late scratching at 11:48 AM due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr M. Giddings was fined $100. Claretown Trixie at the request of the trainer underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
More Wit was quick to begin.

Silver Compass, Mowgli Express and On Key collided approaching the first turn checking Silver Compass and Mowgli Express. Hartland Digger checked off On Key on the first turn. On Key checked off Ocean Star approaching the home turn. Silver Compass, Dancing Rose and Mowgli Express raced wide in the home straight.
