A pre-race sample was taken from Dirty Boston.
Blistering Betty and Dirty Stella were slow to begin.
Red Hot Chance and Young Rachel collided soon after the start. Pookie Smurf and Dirty Boston collided approaching the first turn. Blistering Betty and Dirty Stella collided approaching the first turn. Pookie Smurf, Dirty Boston and Sam I'm Mikado collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Pookie Smurf and Dirty Boston collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Sam I'm Mikado checked off Young Rachel in the home straight. Young Rachel and Table Top collided approaching the winning post.
Pookie Smurf underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr K. Tirchett after Pookie Smurf performed under market expectations. Mr Tirchett stated that he did not support the greyhound and was very surprised at the greyhounds market movement.
Stewards directed a post-race sample to be taken from Pookie Smurf - beaten favourite.
