Parabellum was quick to begin. Shanlyn Spot was slow to begin.
Ultimate Mac crossed in soon after the start checking Ultimate Mac, Hayley's Hero, Black Mintie, Shanlyn Spot and Saipan Bale. Hayley's Hero checked off Ultimate Mac soon after the start checking Black Mintie and Shanlyn Spot. Shanlyn Spot, Saipan Bale and Black Mintie collided approaching the first turn checking Shanlyn Spot, Black Mintie and Hayley's Hero. Shanlyn Spot and Hayley's Hero collided on the first turn checking Hayley's Spot and severely checking Shanlyn Spot. Shanlyn Spot raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Ultimate Mac eased approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr F. Andrighetto, the trainer of Ultimate Mac regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Ultimate Mac was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Andrighetto pleaded not guilty to the charge, Ultimate Mac was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracksand must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Ultimate Mac - the winner of the event.
