Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.2 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.4 degrees.

Busted- Late scratching at 1.44pm after Stewards acted on a confirmed telephone call with trainer Mr Abraham Formosa. Mr Formosa informed Stewards that he had a car breakdown on-route to the racecourse. Stewards accepted Mr Formosa's explanation and no penalty was applied.
Son of Sizzle - Late scratching at 2.20pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to illness. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Piper's Unicorn was quick to begin.
Moonyeen galloped on Jazzy Arandt on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Gabby Gabby and Not Arandt collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Piper's Unicorn visibly eased and turned its head on the home turn. Piper's Unicorn and Jazzy Arandt collided entering the home straight.
Piper's Unicorn underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Boehmke, the trainer of Piper's Unicorn regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Piper's Unicorn was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Boehmke pleaded guilty to the charge, Piper's Unicorn is suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
