In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 15.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 16.8 degrees.
Thanks So Much was slow to begin.
Backhand Basile checked off Capital Letters soon after the start. Crown Polly crossed to the rail soon after the start and checked off Saipan Bale. Tinker Cass and Peace Of Hope collided at the 150m mark. Capital Letters lost ground from the 100m mark.
Thanks So Much underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right flexor tendon and the right back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
