Steward's Report
Step Up Maggie and Selfless collided soon after the start. Wendy Maria and Omar Little collided on the first turn. Happy Tails and Hoo Gur Affair collided on the second turn. Wendy Maria and Step Up Maggie collided on the third turn checking Step Up Maggie. Omar Little visibly eased entering the home straight. Happy Tails raced wide in the home straight.
Step Up Maggie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have minor abrasions to left and right hind paws. No stand down period was imposed.
Omar Little underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Vincent, the trainer of Omar Little regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Omar Little was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Vincent pleaded guilty to the charge, Omar Little is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
