Magic Shout – New declared weight of 31.8kgs, last raced at 30.3kgs.
Especial Empire was quick to begin. Superior Dunkley was slow to begin.
Especial Empire, Magic Shout and Lachie's Legacy collided soon after the start. Staggermite and Iman Bale collided soon after the start checking Legend Rose and Staggermite. Staggermite, Superior Dunkley and Especial Empire collided at the 150m mark. Magic Shout checked off Lachie's Legacy at the 100m mark. Tinker Cass clipped the heels of Staggermite approaching the winning post. Tinker Cass and Superior Dunkley collided at the winning post.
Magic Shout a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abraded nail on the left foreleg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Especial Empire underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Les Weeks after the greyhound performed below market expectations. Mr Weeks stated that he was disappointed with the run and had expected a better performance from the greyhound. Stewards noted Mr Weeks explanation and directed that a post-race sample be taken.
