Steward's Report

Keeper Of Keys and Renewed were slow to begin.

Seve Rose checked off Five Thirty approaching the first turn.  Keefe checked off Van Nindi on the first turn checking Keeper Of Keys.  Seve Rose and Five Thirty collided on the first turn.  Keeper Of Keys and Renewed collided approaching the second turn.  Seve Rose checked off Renewed on the third turn.  Banga checked off Seve Rose on the fourth turn.  Keeper Of Keys, Keefe, Zipping Murphy and Renewed collided approaching the fifth turn severely checking Zipping Murphy and Renewed.  Five Thirty. Zipping Murphy and Renewed collided approaching the home turn checking Five Thirty and Zipping Murphy.  Keefe checked off Seve Rose in the home straight.  Van Nindi tired in the concluding stages and was vetted.

Van Nindi underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind foot.  No stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to the trainer of Van Nindi, Ms A Terry, regarding the greyhound's manners in the home straight. Mrs. Terry stated she felt the greyhound may have tired in the concluding stages however was expecting the Van Nindi to win, and was generally disappointed. Mrs. Terry also stated that Van Nindi has had issues with entering the catching pen in prior starts. Stewards took no further action in relation to the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight, however, alerted her Stewards may take action in future if Van Nindi continues a reluctance to enter the pen and cause significant interference.
