Dr. Madelyn was slow to begin. Willy Eve and Zipping Liam collided soon after the start. Dr. Delilah checked off Dr. Davinci soon after the start. Zipping Liam checked off Jayville Tahlia on the first turn. Dr. Davinci checked off Zipping Liam on the first turn checking Dr. Delilah. Dr. Madelyn checked off Dr. Davinci approaching the home turn. Willy Eve turned it's head outward in the home straight and collided with Jayville Tahlia checking both greyhounds. Jayville Tahlia and Willy Eve collided approaching the winning post.
Willy Eve underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. J. Bowman, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Willy Eve was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Bowman pleaded guilty to the charge, Willy Eve must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
