Steward's Report
Southern Meteor was very slow to begin (4L). Ride High and Hulking Moon collided approaching the first turn checking Ride High. Peas And Carrots, Confront and Ivoria Bale collided on the first turn. Carter Senor and Hulking Moon collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Ivoria Bale galloped on the heels of Confront approaching the home turn severely checking Confront and checking Ivoria Bal. Southern Meteor and Once A King collided entering the home straight. Southern Meteor marred Once A King in the home straight checking Once A King.
Confront underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left rear toe injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Southern Meteor underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Klemke, the trainer of Southern Meteor regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Southern Meteor was charged with marring. Mr. Klemke pleaded guilty to the charge, Southern Meteor is suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
