Steward's Report
Aston Gripen was slow to begin. Rezzie's Choice, Who Cry Now and Barellen Chubby collided on the first turn checking Rezzie's Choice. Who Cry Now and Northern Zone collided on the first turn checking Northern Zone. Emerald City and Barellen Chubby collided on the first turn severely checking Barellen Chubby and Who Cry Now. Aston Gripen and Who Cry Now collided approaching the home turn. Kraken Jonny and Alcott collided several times in the home straight. Northern Zone and Aston Gripen collided approaching the winning post.
Barellen Chubby underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have split webbing to the right fore paw. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. S. McDonnell regarding the greyhound Alcott’s racing manners on the second turn. After observing all available footage, Stewards own observations and Mr. McDonnell's explanation, Stewards took no further action.
A post-race sample was taken from Kraken Jonny, winner of the event.
