In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 34.2 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.7 degrees. Prior to race 1 the outside temperature was 31.8 degrees.
High Volume, Esmay and Apple Valley were slow to begin.
Son Of Sizzle and King Brown Trav collided soon after the start and again on the first turn. Horizon Princess galloped on the heels of Dolce You Too approaching the home turn. Dolce You Too crossed to the outside on the home turn and raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
