Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Hamish.
Zipping Hamish was slow to begin.
Stretch Butler crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Cordoza, Zipping Hamish, Lily Pad and Ride Along. Cordoza and Zipping Hamish collided approaching the first turn checking Cordoza. Lily Pad and Stretch Butler collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Cordoza, Zipping Hamish, Lily Pad, Shamrock Boy and Flying Fifi collided approaching the first turn checking Zipping Hamish and Shamrock Boy. Flying Fifi checked off Stretch Butler on the first turn. Better Watch Out and Stretch Butler collided on the first turn checking Stretch Butler. Cordoza and Lily Pad collided entering the back straight and again in the back straight. Ride Along raced wide in the back straight. Zipping Hamish checked off Shamrock Boy approaching the third turn. Cordoza and Shamrock Boy collided on the third turn checking Cordoza; Cordoza subsequently tailed off.
Cordoza underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Stefano Cassar, the trainer of Cordoza regarding its performance on the third turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Cordoza must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
