Steward's Report
Shima Deal and Mahjong World were slow to begin.
Shima Deal and Mahjong World collided soon after the start. Dan's Hopeful checked off Valletta Mist on the second turn and again entering the back straight; Dan's Hopeful tailed off as a result. Zipping Hazel and Black Beauty collided on the third turn checking Black Beauty. Zipping Hazel checked off Shima Deal entering the home straight. Shima Deal and Valletta Mist collided approaching the winning post.
Dan's Hopeful underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Tony Cortese, the representative of Dan's Hopeful regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed today's performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Dan's Hopeful must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr. Cortese stated that it is the kennels intention to race Dan’s Hopeful over shorter distances in future.
Stewards reminded Mr. James Theodotou, trainer of Quick Finance of his responsibilities to listen/obey starters orders when boxing his greyhound after he prematurely boxed his greyhound GAR 51 (9).
A post-race sample was taken from Imminent Reality - the winner of the event.
