In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees. The outside temperature was 34 degrees prior to the start of race 1.  

Cosmic Katie and David Coin were quick to begin.

Breakfast Creek and All Class Fairy collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Cosmic Katie checked off Blue Tick Fern on the second turn checking Jamo, causing Jamo and All Class Fairy to collide severely checking both greyhounds.

Darcon Lass was quick to begin. Dorellie Love and Quid Pro Quo were slow to begin.  

Dusty Victorem and Cell Block Tango collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Dorellie Love contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Dundee Melody and Mostro Rocks collided entering the front straight checking both greyhounds.  Dusty Victorem checked off Dundee Melody in the front straight.  Dundee Melody and Mostro Rocks collided approaching the second turn checking Dundee Melody.  Cell Block Tango galloped on Dusty Victorem entering the back straight checking Dusty Victorem and Dundee Melody.  Dusty Victorem and Dundee Melody collided in the back straight checking Dundee Melody.  Dundee Melody checked off Dusty Victorem on the fourth turn.  Dusty Victorem, Quid Pro Quo and Dorellie Love collided approaching the home turn checking Dusty Victorem.

Why Not Lilah, Zipping Wade, Start The Clock and Miss Dina were slow to begin.

Bag Of Tricks and Zipping Wade collided soon after the start checking Bag Of Tricks.  Vigorous, Why Not Lilah and Bag Of Tricks collided soon after the start checking Why Not Lilah.  Vigorous and Miss Dina collided on the first turn severely checking Miss Dina, Zipping Wade and Start The Clock, causing Zipping Wade and Start The Clock to race wide.  Miss Dina and Bag Of Tricks collided entering the back straight checking Bag Of Tricks.  

Charango, All Ablaze and Pete's Dream were slow to begin.

Miss Caitlyn crossed to the outside soon after the start checking My Bro Rocks, All Ablaze and Ultra Lightbeam.  All Ablaze and Ultra Lightbeam collided on the first turn.  All Ablaze and Ultra Lightbeam collided in the back straight checking Ultra Lightbeam and My Bro Rocks.  Ultra Lightbeam checked off My Bro Rocks approaching the third turn.   

Walk Me Home was slow to begin.

Halwes crossed to the rail soon after the start checking You Tell Me and Walk Me Home.  You Tell Me checked off Road To Success approaching the first turn.  Montaya and Walk Me Home collided approaching the first turn checking Walk Me Home.  Halwes and Road To Success collided on the first turn checking Road To Success.  Montaya contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Road To Success and severely checking Walk Me Home, which fell as a result.

Montaya underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh muscle injury and a spike wound to the right foreleg paw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Dreamy Eyes and Tough Tears collided soon after the start.  Ruby Girl and Chillin collided soon after start.  Dreamy Eyes checked off Hurricane Tears soon after the start.  Ruby Girl checked off Chillin on the first turn checking Hurricane Tears, Dreamy Eyes, Tough Tears and Unique Quality.  Hurricane Tears raced wided approaching the third turn.  Chillin and Tough Tears collided entering the back straight.  Unique Quality raced wide entering the back straight.  

Shima Deal and Mahjong World were slow to begin.

Shima Deal and Mahjong World collided soon after the start.  Dan's Hopeful checked off Valletta Mist on the second turn and again entering the back straight; Dan's Hopeful tailed off as a result.  Zipping Hazel and Black Beauty collided on the third turn checking Black Beauty.  Zipping Hazel checked off Shima Deal entering the home straight.  Shima Deal and Valletta Mist collided approaching the winning post.  

Dan's Hopeful underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. Tony Cortese, the representative of Dan's Hopeful regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed today's performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Dan's Hopeful must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr. Cortese stated that it is the kennels intention to race Dan’s Hopeful over shorter distances in future. 

Stewards reminded Mr. James Theodotou, trainer of Quick Finance of his responsibilities to listen/obey starters orders when boxing his greyhound after he prematurely boxed his greyhound GAR 51 (9).

Lightning Beach, Invictus Roy and Destini Cavalier were slow to begin.

Ichiban Fairy and Valletta Sky collided approaching the first turn.  Tezzalenko checked off Baby Eden approaching the first turn causing Lightning Beach and Tezzalenko to collide.  Baby Eden and Invictus Roy collided on the first turn.  Tezzalenko and Invictus Roy collided approaching the second turn checking Invictus Roy and Ichiban Fairy; Ichiban Fairy raced wide as a result.  Invictus Roy and Valletta Sky collided in the back straight.  Baby Eden and Tezzalenko collided on the home turn.

Stretch Butler crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Cordoza, Zipping Hamish, Lily Pad and Ride Along.  Cordoza and Zipping Hamish collided approaching the first turn checking Cordoza.  Lily Pad and Stretch Butler collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Cordoza, Zipping Hamish, Lily Pad, Shamrock Boy and Flying Fifi collided approaching the first turn checking Zipping Hamish and Shamrock Boy.  Flying Fifi checked off Stretch Butler on the first turn.  Better Watch Out and Stretch Butler collided on the first turn checking Stretch Butler.  Cordoza and Lily Pad collided entering the back straight and again in the back straight.  Ride Along raced wide in the back straight.  Zipping Hamish checked off Shamrock Boy approaching the third turn.  Cordoza and Shamrock Boy collided on the third turn checking Cordoza; Cordoza subsequently tailed off.
