Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 21.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.4 degrees.
Akoya was slow to begin. Rossington and Have A Roadie collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Lori Love, Rossington and Offaly Blonde collided approaching the first turn checking Offaly Blonde. Ruby Arizona and Akoya collided on the first turn. Ricky Racoon raced wide on the home turn and collided with Soda Girl. Soda Girl, Akoya and Ricky Racoon collided in the home straight.
Ricky Racoon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right sesamoid injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
Offaly Blonde underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Boehm, the trainer of Ricky Racoon and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.
