Steward's Report
Circumstance and Aston Spinel were slow to begin. Indulge crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Halwes, Gracie Blue and Shima Boom. Pair Of Nines and Shima Boom collided on the first turn and raced wide as a result. Halwes checked off Circumstance on the first turn. Halwes and Gracie Blue collided approaching the second turn. Circumstance and Cayden Bale collided approaching the second turn. Gracie Blue turned its head inwards approaching the winning post and collided with Halwes.
Shima Boom was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Gracie Blue was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr C. Hughes, Handler of Gracie Blue, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Gracie Blue was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hughes pleaded not guilty to the charge, Gracie Blue was found guilty and is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
