Steward's Report
Marsha and Velocity Sunrise were quick to begin. Sole Trader, Flojo Mikado and Madalia Mick were slow to begin. Dr. Puma and Marsha collided on the first turn checking Marsha and Sixteen Pegs. Sole Trader and Madalia Mick collided on the first turn checking Madalia Mick and Flojo Mikado. Velocity Sunrise checked off Stormcast on the first turn. Velocity Sunrise checked off Sixteen Pegs approaching the home turn. Stormcast, Marsha and Sole Trader collided approaching the home turn checking Sole Trader. Sixteen Pegs visibly turned its head in approaching the winning post.
Sixteen Pegs underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler, Mr. S. Healey regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Sixteen Pegs was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Healey pleaded guilty to the charge, Sixteen Pegs must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
