Fend Off and Go Pappa Go were slow to begin. Neo Bale, Master Faith and Go Pappa Go collided soon after the start checking Go Pappa Go and Master Faith. Fend Off checked off Go Pappa Go on the first turn. Zemira Mikado and Destini Trucker collided on the first turn checking Destini Trucker and Master Faith. Tansy and Go Pappa Go collided on the first turn.

Master Faith underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
