Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Ocean Master.
Sergeant Schultz, Ocean Master and North Wind collided soon after the start. Midnight Hussler and Dyna Owen collided at the 300m mark severely checking Midnight Hussler which stumbled and lost ground. Sergeant Schultz crossed to the outside at the 300m mark. Little Miss Vip and Ocean Master collided at the 150m mark checking Little Miss Vip. North Wind and Josie's Entity collided at the 100m mark. Little Miss Vip and Josie's Entity collided approaching the winning post. Straaljager visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Midnight Hussler underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Straaljager underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hind leg and a spike wound to the right hind paw, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mrs Chloe Van Der Maat, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Straaljager was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Van Der Maat pleaded guilty to the charge, Straaljager must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
