A pre-race sample was taken from Midnight Mystery.
Midnight Mystery and Nunniong Plain were slow to begin. Havana Miss and Aston Gwen collided on the first turn checkng Aston Gwen. Ultimate Bling and Nunniong Plain collided on the first turn checking Ultimate Bling. Ultimate Bling and Nunniong Plain collided approaching the fourth turn. Sixties Rocker and Havana Miss collided on the home turn. Lot Coin Babe marred Aston Gwen approaching the winning post.
Lot Coin Babe was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right calf muscle and right triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr A. Karabitsakos, Trainer of Lot Coin Babe, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Lot Coin Babe was charged with marring. Mr Karabitsakos pleaded not guilty to the charge, Lot Coin Babe was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
