Kinloch Moss, Halberd Bale and Jaro Bale were slow to begin. Halberd Bale and Jaro Bale collided soon after the start. Halberd Bale checked off Tauwitchere on the first turn checking Jaro Bale. Dyna Smokey and Riley's Paige collided on the first turn checking Riley's Paige, Kinloch Moss and Halberd Bale. Jaro Bale collided with the running rail and lost considerable ground as a result.
