Steward's Report
Victory Chico was quick to begin.
Backhand Basile checked off Sweet Harriet soon after the start. Kobi Star, Victory Chico, Blazing Zeal and Sweet Harriet collided approaching the first turn checking Kobi Star, Victory Chico and Sweet Harriet. Cullquin Marcel checked off Sweet Harriet on the first turn. Blazing Zeal visibly eased and turned it's head approaching the home turn. Tan Back Tan checked off Kobi Star on the home turn. Kobi Star visibly eased entering the home straight. Quick Express and Blazing Zeal collided in the home straight checking Quick Express.
Kobi Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness in the left hind leg, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Russell handler, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Kobi Star was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Russell pleaded guilty to the charge, Kobi Star must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Blazing Zeal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 3. Blazing Zeal was found to have injuries to the left hamstring and groin muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. B. Kinder Trainer, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Blazing Zeal was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Kinder pleaded guilty to the charge, Blazing Zeal must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
