Stewards questioned Mr P.Abela, trainer of Aston Ryker, regarding the scratching of the greyhound. Mr Abela stated that the reason for the scratching was that the greyhound had sustained a foreleg injury. Stewards further questioned Mr Abela regarding his wagering activity in the race, particularly in regard to his other greyhound Stardom. Mr Abela explained that he did not wager on the event in any form, including that particular to Stardom and was not aware of any connections that had wagered in the event. The GRV Betting Analyst will review wagering activity across wagering providers. Mr Abela is required to provide a veterinary certificate for Aston Ryker before any future nominations are accepted pursuant GAR 20(3)(v). A sample was taken from Stardom. Stewards noted Mr Abela's comments.

Stewards spoke to Mr S.VanTaarling, the trainer of Bold regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Bold was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr VanTaarling pleaded guilty to the charge, Bold is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sonny Micawber – Late scratching at 2:28pm when Ms A.Patten reported the greyhound to have illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
