Steward's Report
“Due to Government advice around COVID-19, in accordance with GAR 51(10), the Stewards directed the Starter to box the greyhounds into the starting boxes in the following order, 1 & 5, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8 for all races”
Be Careful Boss – New declared weight of 27.3kgs, last race 26.1kgs.
Be Careful Boss was quick to begin. Hundred Each was slow to begin.
Hundred Each checked off Always There approaching the first turn severely checking Brock's Boy. Hundred Each faltered on the first turn and tailed off. Big Butterbean eased in the home straight.
Hundred Each underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury and abrasions to the left front and back feet. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Big Butterbean underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Mr Bartlett declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr G Bartlett, the trainer of Big Butterbean regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Big Butterbean was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bartlett pleaded guilty to the charge, Big Butterbean is suspended for 12 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c) before any future nomination will be accepted.
