Steward's Report
Mindil Beach was slow to begin.
Reichman, Gracie Blue and Patricia Maureen collided on the first turn checking Gracie Blue. Patricia Maureen and Reichman collided approaching the second turn. Gracie Blue and Unwanted Lady collided approaching the second turn. Gracie Blue checked off Reichman on the second turn. Reichman and Gracie Blue collided in the home straight. Gracie Blue turned its head outwards and visibly eased in the home straight checking Reichman. Gracie Blue, Reichman and They Love Me collided approaching the winning post.
Gracie Blue underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have laceration to the left hind dorsal. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs W. Hughes, the trainer of Gracie Blue regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Gracie Blue was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Hughes pleaded guilty to the charge, Gracie Blue is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
