Madalia Ken was slow to begin. Phoenix Drive and Taking Off collided soon after the start checking Taking Off. Phoenix Drive and Braemar Keelie collided approaching the first turn checking Braemar Keelie. Why Not Colby and Zipping Samara collided on the first turn checking Zipping Samara.

Braemar Keelie underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
