Steward's Report
Re-examination (re-vet) to remove an injury stand down period from another meeting.
Braemar Sassy - In accordance with GAR 73, presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Healesville on 17th January 2020. Braemar Sassy was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be free from injury. Braemar Sassy was Cleared to race.
Brilliant Jet was slow to begin. Symbol For You and Flywheel Storm collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Symbol For You, Brilliant Jet and Bernmar Blue collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn severely checking all three greyhounds. Brilliant Jet and Bernmar Blue collided approaching the home turn checking Brilliant Jet. Flywheel Storm and Run Robyn Run collided several times approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.
Symbol For You underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was detected.
Stewards spoke to the representative of Symbol For You, Mr. L. Fasoli regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. After viewing the footage and taking into consideration Stewards own observations, Stewards took no action against the greyhound as they believed the greyhound was attempting to race wide on the first turn.
Flywheel Storm underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a papilloma on the right front foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Bye the trainer of Flywheel Storm regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Taking into consideration the condition found by the veterinary surgeon following the event, Stewards took no further action.
Run Robyn Run underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Mr. S. Bye was issued a warning after being 4 minutes late in appearing at the kennels to retrieve and prepare Flywheel Storm for racing. (GAR 46 (2).
