Steward's Report
Akina Archer and Loufie were slow to begin. Gypsy Hook, Spinner Hook and Wyoming Express collided approaching the first turn checking Spinner Hook. Alisha Hook and Matilda Hook collided on the first turn checking Alisha Hook. Akina Archer, Alisha Hook, Spinner Hook and Wyoming Express collided on the second turn checking Alisha Hook, Spinner Hook and Wyoming Express. Akina Archer was checked off Matilda Hook approaching the home turn. Spinner Hook visibly eased from approaching the home turn to the winning post severely checking Spinner Hook and Wyoming Express. Matilda Hook and Loufie collided in the home straight.
Wyoming Express underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
Spinner Hook underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 10. Spinner Hook was found to have an injured right back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. C. Galea regarding the greyhound's manners from approaching the home turn to the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Spinner Hook was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Galea pleaded guilty to the charge, Spinner Hook must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
