Flinders checked off Blazing Flora on the first turn checking Red Beryl and Chillin' The Fat. Rynell Bale and Rosie Reigns collided approaching the home turn. Chillin' The Fat and Rosie Reigns collided on the home turn. Flinders and Blazing Flora collided in the home straight. Flinders veered in and marred Blazing Flora in the home straight.
Blazing Flora underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the trainer of Flinders regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Flinders was charged with marring. Mr. McMahon pleaded not guilty to the charge, Flinders is suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
