Stewards altered the closing time of kennelling in accordance with GAR 31, due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced traffic delays on-route to the track. The kennels closed at 6:19pm.

Due to a heavy down pour during kennelling, Stewards inspected the track prior to race 1 and declared it safe to race.  

Big Bash Healy, Casanova Man, Rising Moon and Akina Indie were slow to begin.

Akina Indie and Rising Moon collided soon after the start.  Casanova Man and Akina Blaze collided approaching the first turn. It's A Tiger checked off Run Fast Maximus approaching the first turn checking Akina Blaze.  Casanova Man contacted the running rail on the first turn.  Big Bash Healy checked off Armageddon Arby on the first turn.  Rising Moon raced wide approaching the home turn.  Akina Blaze and Run Fast Maximus collided on the home turn checking Big Bash Healy.  Run Fast Maximus checked off Akina Blaze  in the home straight checking Big Bash Healy. 

Casanova Man underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the right foreleg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Superior Dunkley, Rocky Pie, Big Bash Ellyse and Budgewoi Opal were slow to begin.  Devon Shadow was very slow out (9 lengths).

Empowered and Stareena collided soon after the start checking Empowered.  Stareena and Federal Desire collided on the first turn checking Federal Desire.  Empowered checked off Federal Desire approaching the second turn.

Akina Spice and Gentleman Thief were slow to begin.

Dazzling Bling underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
