Why Not Patrick was slow to begin. Tink, What Price, Southwood Bill and Neo Bale collided soon after the start checking Southwood Bill. Neo Bale checked off What Price approaching the first turn severely checking Neo Bale. Tink, What Price and Weeping Angel collided approaching the first turn severely checking What Price which contacted the running rail. Going In Style, Weeping Angel and Tink collided on the first turn severely checking Going In Style. Going In Style and Why Not Patrick collided approaching the home turn. Southwood Bill and Neo Bale collided in the home straight checking Neo Bale.
What Price underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to both stopper pads. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Y. Andrews, the trainer of Tink regarding its improved performance in this event. Ms. Andrews stated that the previous two starts the greyhound has received interference and she was expecting the greyhound to peform well due to the box draw. Stewards ordered that a sample be taken from the greyhound.
