A pre-race sample was taken from Dyna Carl.
Kinloch Breeze was quick to begin. Pirate Lee and Dyna Carl were slow to begin. Especial One and Aston Pirate collided soon after the start. Pirate Lee and Winlock Kin collided approaching the first turn checking Pirate Lee. Winlock Kin, Kinloch Breeze, Easter Orchid, Especial One and Aston Pirate collided on the first turn checking Dyna Carl and Pirate Lee and severely checking Especial One and Aston Pirate and causing Easter Orchid to fall. Kinloch Breeze and Winlock Kin collided in the home straight.
Easter Orchid underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
