Steward's Report
Bejarano was quick to begin. Seve Rose was slow to begin. Lightwood Lass and Summer Girl collided approaching the first turn. Summer Girl, Lightwood Lass, Selfless and Bejarano collided on the first turn checking Lightwood Lass, Selfless, Expense Eve and Seve Rose. Selfless and Lightwood Lass collided entering the back straight checking Lightwood Lass. Expense Eve and Bejarano collided on the home turn. Seve Rose visibly eased and turned it's head entering the home straight.
Seve Rose underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mrs. S. Chignell, regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Seve Rose was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Chignell pleaded not guilty to the charge, Seve Rose was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
