Ginny Weasley and Zekel Bale were slow to begin. Aston Lindop and Sprightly Bro collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Lindop which collided with Ginny Weasley and Zekel Bale as a result. Ginny Weasley checked off Sprightly Bro approaching the first turn checking Aston Lindop. Starry's Lad, Okawa On Fire, Sprightly Bro and Kat's Hughy collided on the first turn checking Starry's Lad, severely checking Okawa On Fire, Ginny Weasley, Zekel Bale and Aston Lindop. Okawa On Fire turned its head outwards and collided with Aston Lindop approaching the second turn, severely checking Aston Lindop which collided with Zekel Bale.
Okawa On Fire was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr C. Tilley, Trainer of Okawa On Fire regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Okawa On Fire was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Tilley pleaded guilty to the charge, Okawa On Fire must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted
Zekel Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Aston Lindop was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hock, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
