Steward's Report
Jillissa - Late scratching at 4:17pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Hurricane Dylan was quick to begin. Double Supreme was slow to begin. Dr. Seraphina, Matilda Hook and Red Beryl collided on the first turn checking Red Beryl severely checking Matilda Hook which stumbled. Dr. Seraphina visibly eased and turned its head approaching the home turn checking Hurricane Dylan. Red Beryl crossed out on the home turn causing Dr. Seraphina to gallop on Red Beryl.
Dr. Seraphina underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the trainer of Dr. Seraphina regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Dr. Seraphina was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge, Dr. Seraphina is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
